Rob and Lauren Lim are photographers that love to travel as well. I love this image. The texture and  lighting  , and the pops of color capture my attention.

Tim Twinem of Velare

Remembering our lives and the important events in our lives is what photography is all about. A single photo can share a thousand words and have a different meaning and relation to whomever views it , even the different subjects in the photo. A remember when moment or reminder of the past takes place when we look at photos. Althought those things can be captured by a lens , there is also video imaging that can capture some of those intimate things or actions we didnt quite get to freeze with our camera lens. And this is what tim does here: http://www.velare.tv/michael-allyson-ireland

Jonas Peterson

Wedding  photographer  Jonas  Peterson has some striking images that are not the traditional run of the mill wedding shots. Check him out here:   http://jonaspeterson.com

Henri Cartier-Bresson

In class we have seen several of the images by Henri Cartier-Bresson and now that the holidays are upon us , I finally got a chance to investigate further. I can see why he is well know. The compositions are amazing and  interesting view of his subjects and repetition in pattern is also captivating. Another aspect I like is that many of the photos he took were more candid and photojournalistic . I like the idea of capturing life  while it happens. Emmet Gowin

The other photographer's work on display at the St. Louis Art Museum is Emmet Gowin. OHH MYY!  I LOVE his work. Just goes to show that you dont have to search far for beauty. Most of the portraits are of his wife. You can see the progression and the physical change in the subject if you pay attention to the dates and the life shifts in his work . Remarkable. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to view Gowin's work.  http://www.slam.org/exhibitions/weightofthings.php

Paul Strand

Last week I  took a trip to the St. Louis Art Museum and swung by the photography room to find this gentleman's photos. All of his photos were in black and white (love) . If you have not been there you should go check it out. I spent  most of my time in the 2 rooms of photos. I was supposed to be there to check out other works of art.Oh well, Enjoy!

A Well Traveled Women

The Well Traveled Women is a blog that I look at often , because of the connection I feel with the photos and the life she lives. It just seems so simple, connected, artistic and sometimes chaotic. The photos are of  her own and of other photographers and artist that inspire her, and words that express life and the expectations we hold on others and ourselves.

Such a hectic crazy life I have right now ! Full to the brim of things to do, it seems that I never have enough time in a day. I guess the time is the same....it's just the things that pile up , and the many curve balls that just set us back at the most inconvenient times. Somehow I must rock the chaos!
Through the clouds and the darkness , there is still light  ! That's how I am seeing this photo today by Jennifer Schlick http://jamestownaudubon2.wordpress.com/2013/07/06/photography-as-spiritual-practice/

http://www.nicolefranzen.com

I came across this image of an artist creating, which makes me stop and just think that most generally I am drawn in by the creative ,simple but beautiful, hands on "living " photos.  And I just get that voice in my head saying follow this path. It is tugging me in a certain direction , yet I still resist ...... Fear, everything you have always wanted is on the other side of fear.

Okay enough about me. Click on the link above , she  has done work for Kinfolk magazine one of my faves ( for the images ). I had  no idea they were connected , until today !

So here  are two artist , the first is  Pixie Campbell (painter and sacred circle healer)  ,and the other Stacey de la Rosa (the photographer )- behind the photos on Pixie's site.  Pixie is not new to me, as I have know of her work and have been to her site a few times over. She is really inspiring, I always noticed the photos but never truelly explored the artist behind them ...until today . Seems I have been to this photographers site before , I remember her work . I just didnt put two and two together. Even with the loads of info out on the internet your interest lead you in a circle.
